Inspiration

I love learning and trying out new stitches. The Even Berry Stitch is a new one to me and I love how easy it is and the beautiful texture it creates. See the Stitch Index section below for a written description of how this stitch is worked.

The inspiration for the name of this modern crochet baby blanket came from the Even Berry Stitch and the Neapolitan color scheme. The Berry Sweet Baby Blanket seemed like a perfect name!

Yarn

I used Yarn Bee Breathe Deep in Ivory, Mauve, and Brown Sugar. I actually found these on clearance at my local Hobby Lobby for $1 each! I love how buttery soft and smooth this yarn is. It’s very easy on the hands and works up beautifully.

Although this yarn isn’t available for purchase anymore, below are some similar yarns I would recommend for this project.

Notes

– The ‘border’ for this pattern is worked at the same time as the body of the blanket.

– The body of the blanket is worked through both loops. Only the ‘border’ is worked in the BLO.

– The color stripe pattern I used is on Page XX (will change). If you are following the exact pattern I used, I recommend printing and highlighting/crossing off each color stripe as you go.

-I used a random stripe generator for my color scheme. I used a combination of the tools found here: Biscuits and Jam.

Final Thoughts on this Modern Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern

I hope you enjoy making this easy and cathartic modern crochet baby blanket pattern. A friend of mine loved the texture of this blanket so much, I purchased a bunch of Lion Brand Yarn Feels Like Butta in her favorite colors to make a larger, adult version for her. I’ll be sure to post it when it’s finished!
