Mother’s Day Bouquet
Check out this super cute and super easy crochet bouquet that I whipped up in a day for my Mom and MIL last year. Mother’s Day is still a couple months away now but I’ve already got a good idea of what I’ll make this year, don’t you? If so, consider this option. If not, consider this option! 😉
I’ve been on a tight budget for some time now so I was searching for something cheap and pretty to make the mothers and when I came across this carnation flower pattern I knew I could make something very cute and thoughtful for very cheap. And what woman wouldn’t love a bouquet that you can put away for months at a time and still be a beautiful option when you’re in need of a minor decor update?
I actually found patterns for the amigurumi heart and carnations browsing through Pinterest, so here are the links for those:
The pattern for the amigurumi heart can be found here at Little Yarn Tales
The Carnation pattern can be found here at Maggie’s Crochet
I used 100% cotton worsted weight yarn like Lily Sugar’n Cream for both and the hook sizes recommended for the yarns (I use these!).
I found a wooden dowel like these lying around for the ‘stem’ for the heart and hot glued yarn spiraling down the dowel.
For the carnation stems I used florist tape and wire.
The flowers and leaves were picked up at Hobby Lobby, but you can, of course, get those anywhere!
If you make something inspired by my blog I would love to see pictures! Tag me in your photos and use #yarniqueblog.
Happy making friend!
